P4 isn't all that expensive

*cough* ...as for compatibility... well... i don't know of anyone ever having a compatibility problem running windows on an amd chip. not the k5, k6, or athlon.

You still have to keep in mind the issue of price/performance. If a 1.4 GHz P4 costs the same as a 1.4 GHz TBird, the TBird is still a much better deal.

Well, P4 CPU might not be all that expensive, but add in the cost of new motherboard, PSU AND RDRAM and it becomes expensive quickly.

Well oblivion, if you buy an Intel system, then it looks from your icon that you can get a cushy job in the Blue Man Group.

And Hey! Your internet will be faster too!

uh, yeah Intel's marketing is funny like that. The company is no longer run by engineers. Personally I would rather enhance my internet experience with a large data pipe rather then a P4. 🙂 When the hell is that optical cable coming. 🙂

Those prebuild P4 systems usually have less HD space, less and slower (PC600) RDRAM and a crappier videocard. This all to bring down the price so that people will buy it.

I'll stick with AMD unless they screw it up too.

<< Man, I wonder what 3MB/s costs per month. Prolly my firstborn male son. >>

well, it's 3 mbps, so that's 375 K/s. I get that on cable, but what's nice is it's 3mbps up/down. 10mbps up/down must cost a fortune though...

Dang Sugar, you get 375 KB/s on cable! I'm lucky if I hit 300. No complaining though. Cable is supposed to max out at 180 KB/s give or take.

I get 500K max, but 300-400 is common on good servers. The bad part is UL is capped at 15-20K. But since I only pay 30$ can. (=20$ US), I can't really complain. 🙂

I can get 100 Mbit fiber right into my home, but unfortunately it comes at a rather hefty price of ~$1.600, and considdering the fact that 100 mbit is only guaranteed within the same network, it feels sorta... expensive 🙂

If I remember correctly, P4 systems have their own form of the 4in1s. Strangely, drivers are a necessary part of system setup.

optical internet, robo maids and flying cars, large CCD's.
Who the heck is suppressing these things. I smell conspiracy.
