Broke off... Intel the genuises they are, decided to make it PLASTIC. So... I need some suggestions on where I can get the plastic fastening part of the Intel P4 3.0 Ghz Heatsink. I wasn't using force at all, I must have gotten a poorly made retension clip...

Here's a pic of the broken one...

I really would like to get my system up and running this week, so any suggestions on places that can -fast- deliver this part would be great...

This is a retail boxed processor, not sure if Intel will ship the part out quickly though.

If you happen to have a high-performance SocketA heatsink lying around, you might hook yourself up with one of these --d'oh, out of stock! 😛

Grrr, and I can't find one anywhere else either. Well, good luck there 😕

Bro If you want it all fast go out and get a Coolermaster KI4-7H52A HSF Combo... sure it costs money but you can't wait to start fragging!

Fry's Electronics (Outpost.com) Same Day shipping, In Stock $29.99 (no plastic clips either)

By the way Get it at Frys(retail store or online) and 30 Days from now you can take it back..once you get the Intel Part from them.

heres the link http://shop4.outpost.com/product/3580044

Good luck...

Well...I dont know it is a solution for a fellow gamer...if you choose corporate beast over common man thats fine. I see nothing wrong with the 30 day money back usage... it doesnt have to be defective to return it...he did after all find a cheaper solution. I welcome any criticism however so that i may grow and not be an idiot in our society...thanks all 😱

Bringing ethics into a "CPU/Processors and Overclocking" forum just seems a little weird to me. And if Fry's found they were losing money on 30-Day return policies, I think they would not continue to offer it. Besides, if Fry's offers this "service", in the hopes that convenience will make him a return customer, than ultimately, Fry's still wins, AND the customer is happy. I would just chalk this up to the educated consumer...

And to assume that the corporate beast as so put has no intention, or has ever taken advantage of the customer, you would just have to be plain naive...
