Anyone know of a good quiet one? I bought the OEM chip (gasp) and it did not come with a
heatsink fan setup. I bought the P4 DRAGON 478 and it does do a good job, temps stay in the
36 to 52c range under max load. But I cannot stand this thing, on high power it sounds like a
jet engine at idle. At medium setting it has a harmonic that just annoys me, I have been a jet
engine mechanic for 22 years.... At low rpm setting, it just doesn't cut it... CPU temps creep to
the 62c range under 100% processor load. And the way this heatsink is set up, it uses a very
weird 60mm fan setup, I cannot simply change the fan.
I have a PC Power & Cooling Turbo Cool 425 PSU, and that is fairly loud, I am looking for a
CPU HS/Fan combo that is not any louder than that, that I can tolerate.
