First I tried to use the search but was unsuccessful. If there is anyone NOT tired of answering this question please enlighten me. Im most interested in comparing the venice 3000+ and 3200+ to their respective P4 Counterparts non OC of course.

As a second question any insight to the venice 3000+ Oc potential on a Gigabyte Nf3 board? Board is the Gigabyte Ga-K8NSC 939 nForce 3. I'm wondering how much it can oc to with stock HSF and Crucial pc3200 ram.

PR number = Intel speed in ghz. Its pretty self explanitory. 3000+ = 3,000mhz. ie 3.0ghz.

You wont know what your chip clocks to until you physically try it. It could be 2.3ghz or it could be 2.8. You wont know.

How does that apply to a 4000+? Theoretically does that it mean it is much like a 4.0 would be if intel had one?

Thanks for your response.

It is difficult to tell and depends on apps you are running. For example in games The a64 3000+ and 3200+ will spank P4 3000 and 3200. But in other stuff like encoding the P4s will be faster. But in overall performance you can say that a 3000+ is more like a 3.2GHz P4(except in encoding) and a A64 3200+ will be more like a 3.4Ghz P4(except in encoding).
