Maybe. I will definitely overheat it ! Why the 830 ? Worst choice you could make for a gaming cpu, slow, and way too much heat compared to a 3800+ X2.

It will perform similarly to a P4 3.0ghz, so it will probably be a slight bottleneck in some situations, but should make anything unplayable or anything realisticly. I can definatly say for certainty that I am not fond of my 830, it runs too hot, and is slower than the 3.4ghz single core I replaced in most cases, I love my X2 on the other hand, runs at 51c max overclocked to 2.618ghz, on the stock cooler.

also, there is a good chance it will throttle down a lot, especially if you have stock cooling and low case airflow.
