I searched around for some threads on the subject, but haven't found any. What are your thoughts on the P4 DDR in comparison to the P4 Rambus combination? Which would be better for gaming? Thanks.

If you had two pretty much identical systems ... 1 with DDR and 1 with Rambus ... you would not notice the difference between the two. Pretty much you would only see the difference in synthetic benchmarks (i.e. sandra's memory bench). Your overall benchmarks would hardly change also ... in conclusion ... just get DDR :)

I searched for a min or 2 and came up with this... perhaps it will help. Article

lets just say the differences thesedays aren't as big as they once were, and from a cost perspective is a better idea to go with DDR over RAMBUS. I have a DDR powered P4 rig and no complaints. get some PC3500 in there with a GB or 845pe chipset and ya cant go wrong.

With the Intel Granite Bay and SIS 655 chipsets I can hardly see why you would consider an RDRAM platform.

RAMBUS won't be supported by the major system manufactures like Dell, Gateway and HP once Intel stops making i850 chipsets - DDR is the future and RAMBUS is the past. My advise would be DDR as the group has already stated.
