The Pentium 4 has been canceled and Intel is going to shut down!!! I just heard from a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend who is a janitor at Intel that the Pentium 4 has been canceled due to heat and manufacturing problems. As a result of this colossal setback and financial loss Intel has decided to close its doors forever. Also, once Intel reported this Rambus filed a legal suit against demanding that all production and development of DDR/SDRAM chipsets be halted by AMD, VIA, and Ali. In place of DDR/SDRAM they must now produce RDRAM chipsets and pay royalties to Rambus.
If you have made it this far without going insane and thinking that the world is over, as we know it, here is my point. I find it very annoying that people try to post BS like this and about other companies (ie: nVidia & #3dfx) and make it seem like they are facts. I would think that most people would be mature enough to make responsible posts here and at least try to have accurate information before posting.
FYI I am not biased in any way to the above companies. I have both 3dfx and nVidia based graphics cards and AMD and Intel based computers. As far as Rambus, I know that their litigations with various SDRAM manufacturers and chip makers is real and they do pose a threat to SDRAM as a whole. I just thought that it fit well.
If you still have not figured it out, I made everything up. I am just ranting about some of the recent posts that have no validity what so ever.
