I know, I know, but a client wants to just partially upgrade. What are folks using? He only wants the 66 mhz controller, 4XAGP or PRO, and room for 512 megs of the old pc 133 ram. He wants to move his video, ram, cdrom, and hard drives over. You know the drill. Is someone running a stable board with a very stable bios and NO problems? If so, what? He's a lawyer, so it needs to work.
Thanks,
Robert

Look at Intel's own boards, usually can't beat those for 'stability'. Make sure you have enough DIMM sockets though.

Are you using an Intel board with success in this sort of configuration?

Thanks,
Robert

The Asus P4B is probably the best P4 SDRAM motherboard. It has the EZ plug so you don't have to buy a new power supply and it has a ton of overclocking features and a 4x AGP slot.

Not personally, but a client has quite a few of them. No problems whatsover. If your customer runs Linux, the only caveat I can think of is that Intel's current on board NICs can be a b*tch to configure with some distros.

But Diable has a very good point with the PSU. If you plan to reuse the case and PSU, the Asus P4B would be a better choice because of the 'EZ plug'.
