P4 B0's seem to run cooler than C1's

When I had my Epox i845D mobo in this rig, I noticed that the C1 stepping cpu's were running roughly 6+C hotter than a B0 stepping cpu @ 1.525v. Now that I have an E7205 mobo, I am seeing the same results. Has anone else noticed this?

ill LYK in a few days! 😉 😀

i did read something somewhere that any c1 cpu with HT disabled runs 5*C hotter :Q

Ok, I'll bite. What are you getting?

He is getting a c1 2.0a ghz oem chip!!!! He sure loves them A's.......1.6 to 1.8 to 2.0...I don't expect him to get another a again after this!!!😉 Vegas should carry odds on Thugs buying habits...

I think he mentioned a 2.0 😉

Intel has a price drop on Monday for 2.4 and above.

so far there is no hack.

even intel themselves claimed HT is enabled/disbaled during the manufacturing process and cant be changed.

not sure how true that is tho 😉

Well, I do see my C1 runs hotter under full load. Same temps on idle.
could you run some HT on/off temp tests for us?

p l e a s e ? 😀
Here's an article that does just that

Excellent article. It looks like 70ish is the temp to shy away from in order to avoid clock throttling.

I am trying to find a way to disable it in the AX4R+ bios, but I do not see an option.
