Here is some information on our favorite component, the Asus P4G8X that we used for this exercise. It is stable at an effective FSB speed of 195 MHz, which comes close to the bandwidth of the forthcoming Springdale platform. (800 MHz FSB is a figure conjured up by Intel's marketing department.)
Does this not show that Asus P4G8X may be capable of supporting 800MHz QDR FSB Pentium4 processors? Why wait for springdale?

If you can find a 1.6A that can do 3.2 GHz or a 1.8A that can do 3.6 GHz let me know, I may be interested :D

I was unimpressed
i kinda expected more out of a 25% increase in clock speed (over the 3.06)
the 4.1ghz chip got outperformed by the 3.6 in many cases
the only way i can see next year's Intel cpu's being impressive is when they do their die shrink, add more cache, and up the fsb.
maybe when all the apps get HT optimized that will help too

Tom does do good reviews and articles tho

That's a nice OC, but I don't really think it deserves such a long winded "oh my god look as us" article. They bought a Prometeia, it's not like they achieved some kind of engineering miracle. <shrug>
