whats the normal temperature for an idle p43.2 ht on stock cooling? mine is abuot 45 and under load like 62... is that normal?

Thats about right. Just so long as you don't get up to 72c your fine. Throttling will kick in around 72c at stock settings.

Thats fine, my brothers p4 3.2ghz has roughtly the same temps, only 37c idle and 62c full load. Thats a northwood thought.

definatly normal. my 2.53ghz northwood hits 51C under load, and since yours a prescott....

That is more normal for a prescott...the prescotts were Intels miserbale failure at the 90nm process....Clock for clock the prescotts were usually slower due to their lengthened pipeline (which the only need for was to ramp up mhz yet only got 400mhz more then their top northwood speed)and hotter due to the excessive leakage they had....

My 2.4c oc'd to 3.5ghz with .08v overvolt usually was in the low 60's for load...with a bit of dust build up I would hit mid 60's with full load.....At stock vcore but 3.2ghz my northwood idled at 37-38c but loaded to mid 50's....northwoods were not bad at all...
