P4 3.2 GHz the last of 32-bit?

Overkast

With the new 64-bit Prescott coming out, do you guys think Intel will discontinue the development of 32-bit chips completely?

If so, I'm not gonna even bother buying a socket 478 compatible water cooling solution like I had planned. I'll probably buy an SLK-900U w/ Fan instead.

if you payed what i did for my waterblock you would be down 60 bucks if a later motherboard upgrade caused the socket/holes not to match

i say if you need the water cooling system now go for it otherwise the slk-900u is a great heatsink

and i don't think intel will be getting rid of 32 bit procs just yet
maybe another year or two with them in midrange to budget segments in one form or another after 64 bit is released

also don't forget yamhil technology......

Prescott is not a 64 bit processor.
It is IA32 just like the current Northwood core P4.
There is a rumor that Intel will make the p4 core after
prescott 64bit in late 2004/early 2005, but that is just a rumor.
