2x256 Kingston HyperX 3500 @ 422MHz 2-7-2-2
Radeon 9700 Pro
Antec TruePower 550
Prometeia Cooled (Unit reading: -39C idle / -29C load)

Sandra 2003 Pro

Mem: 4140/4139

Super Pi

Prime95 Stable for 24 hours

Damn SiS holding me back... will not budge over 169MHz FSB. :( Same processor does close to 4GHz in my IT7 MAX, but the SINXP is very responsive... :)

More to come...... ;)

EDIT: Dropped VCore to 1.65V with no stability loss.

looks like your mem timings need to be relaxed a little to go higher. You still havent reached the rated speed of the memory and I understand that those sticks run their rated speed at something like 2-7-4-4. At least take the memory question out of the problem.

BTW: great OC...Vapochill is soon to be my next purchase.

LOL!! Watercooling just was not doing it for me anymore... :) The Prometeia is a sweet unit. Not loud at all, pretty easy to install, and smooth running.

169MHz FSB is pretty damn good for the SiS 655. I am still running the shipping BIOS also. I have a modded version to try with increased VDIMM etc... I may also try beefing up the NB cooling. (I hate to ditch the purdy factory HSF though) The 3.06 will run a **** hair below 4GHz in my IT7, but like I said, the SINXP is very snappy now. :)

mechBgon: I will get on that bench ASAP....

Yeah! I gotta see this! Your system should destroy the current record....

That is about where most of the reviews said the sis chipset would start limiting you....I think the much higher memory bandwidth far outweighs the 120mhz less in speed the IT got you....

NIce OC man!!!

That is my conclusion as well... In the next few days I will post more benchmarks including a comparison with the IT7 MAX. FedX screwed up yesterday and did not deliver the 2500+ Barton and ABIT NF7-S I was expecting. (Fingers crossed that the ABIT is the REV. 1.2 ;) ) I have to take a road trip today to pick them up. ;) I am spreading myself thin with projects, but will get results posted ASAP.

Is the SINXP (or any SiS 655) THE P4 mobo to have for OC'ing??? I don't think so. I just had to try it for myself. :) The memory bandwidth is lacking compared to the GB, and I did receive the SiS 655 A0 stepping instead of the B0.

Anyway, I think that 3.88GHz out of the 3.06 is respectable on this mobo.... (until I try something else in the near future :p )

Dammit... My SINXP just started having a DPVRM failure (Dual Power Card) on bootup. I have seen a few others with the same issue. :( Oh well, maybe if I RMA it fast enough, it will still be out of stock at Newegg to get a refund instead of exchange... ;)

Needless to say, further benchmarks and testing is on hold. It has been fun though... :) I'll just throw my IT7 back together for the time being....

Technonut, did you try overclocking on air only? If so what was your max overclock? I've been thinking about a 3.06GHz chip but it wouldn't be worth the effort if I couldn't run the fsb at 167 or more.

I was having the same problem on my "8INXP" and I fixed the problem by powering down , upluging the PSU and letting it sit for a while. When I returned no more DPVRM failure errors. YMMV;)

I also noticed that I could provoke the error by pushing the fsb to failure.

THUGSROOK: It ran without the DPS, but I was not able to OC as high. It is on the way back to the Egg.

I have thought about it, and if I could obtain the B0 SiS 655 stepping, (and working DPS) I would like to stick with the SINXP. I like my personal mobos to have at least 4 IDE ports. The SINXP has many memory ratios to choose from, and really is a decent OCing board. I have read many reviews of the ASUS P4G8X Deluxe, and personally don't like it enough to shell out an additional $60.00 for the loss of 2 IDE ports and 1:1 memory ratio, even though there seems to be some increase in memory performance.

ShoNuff: The 3.06 factory HSF gave me around 3450MHz. If you are looking for a 167MHz FSB on air-cooling with the 3.06, (3850MHz) I don't think it will work.

I am currently running my 3.06 / IT7 @ 3850MHz / 167MHz FSB with the RAM @ 3:4. (446MHz) until I get my replacement board.

You need to try setfsb or easytune to push further once in windows...i have run 200fsb and benched at 195fsb where the board would only boot to 183fsb.Run setfsb..find the absolute max for the board etc and then set the same with easytune so it auto overclocks your rig on every boot..Job done!!

bigtoe33: It was your modded BIOS I was going to try before the board was RMA'ed. From what I gather, the increased VDIMM is not working correct? Do you know of anyone that has found a way to mod the board to increase VDIMM?

Technonut how hard is it to clean when you swap motherboards? Are the condensation stuff reusable like neoprene pads? I was thinking of getting pelt or prommie but the hassle seems a bit much. How hard is it to clean off di electric grease?

Running watercooling now but my PSU is a little screwed up, have to get an Antec 480 Watt. 2.8 @ 3.25ghz with 1.525 voltage. I can only get a max of 3.42 with 1.75V but I think with an IT7 Max 2 v2.0 I can hit 3.5

Waiting for the Abit BH7 though. I have the 8INXP and I think it's a decent board, very nice features and O/Cs pretty well but at this point I don't think the performance gain with Dual DDR is worth the price. Give me a good PE chipset anyday.
