Hello everyone. When I use the pentium 3.06 ghz chip, my computer frequently shows the blue screen of death.
My computer will run perfect with a pentium 2.6 chip, but as soon as I put in the 3 gig, I get the blue screens (with
various errors).
The power supply is not the problem, for it is designed for a 3 gig processor. I am wondering if it is the processor
fan. The fan is a thermaltake (designed for pentium 2.4 I think). Does anybody know what the problem is?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Update latest bios, like thugsrook said. . and do any form of updating to the mobo there is possible; that exact same problem happened to me until I updated bios and mobo.

Assuming you can disable the Hyper-Threading in your MoBo bios, try that first. My 3.06 runs flawlessly until I enable HyperThreading, and then it crashes faster than I can reboot it. Methinks that either I don't know what the hell I'm doing, or the Hyperthreading implementation is a bit buggy right now.
