P4 2.8C or 2.8E?

im going to get a new setup tomorrow.

im going with the DFI LANPARTY PRO875B (P4)

and a

P4 2.8 chip. which chip should i be getting? 2.8C or 2.8E? both seem to be about the same price. this mobo seems to support both of the chips, but dont know what one i should be getting


any help would be appreciated

Your better off w/ the C unless you plan on going w/ some exotic water or phase change cooling setup. if so the E may be slightly better as it could prolly go farther than the C's w/ the right cooling.

The E was designed to scale to higher speeds and will most likey beat the C at higher clock speeds (3.6GHz+), but at 2.8GHz the C is faster in most cases. Plus, the E runs a lot hotter, draws more power, and is usually a bit more expensive than the C.

Unless you can clock the 2.8E pass 3.6 ghZ (probably not going to happen), the 2.8C will be faster head-to-head than the prescott. And, it'll probably run cooler.
