P4 2.8C OC Help!

Hi, I picked up a P4 2.8C along with 512MB Mushkin Lvl II PC3500 RAM. I running these with a Shuttle SB65G. I'm completely new to overclocking. Can anyone help walking me through some possible BIOS settings to get it up to 3.2 or more? A few things that are a bit confusing when I've been reading the forum is the settings like 1:1 or 3:2. What do these all mean?

Pretty much to O/C you raise the fsb (front side bus) speed.
the 1:1 or 3:2 or 5:4 are memory ratio's many times when you up the fsb your memory cant keep up with it and has to be run at a different ratio to it, im not real familar with you mobo but there should be settings in the BIOS that you would need to change (enable/disable) in order to modify alot of this stuff

I like to start with the memory running very safe, ie: 3:2 at slow timings or let spd handle the ram. Start raising the fsb and/or cpu voltage (careful there) until you find the limit of your cpu. Then start running the memory faster until it limits out. That's VERY basic, there are a lot of settings that need to be tweaked. You need to do a lot more reading and stay conservative until you know a little more about it.

Good luck with your OC...😀
