Oh boy!

I'm concerned. It starts of well - it that is to be considered "well" - w/ somewhat above 40... and now it's at 59degrees! PEOPLE! Please help me. Oh my god.. I set up the temp. alarm to 60degrees so that kinda sucks. When I play any game, my motherboard beeps and I think it tries to warn me about those 60 degrees!
What shall I do? Tried to increase airflow inside the case... and I found out that there kind of is NO airflow in this case. The fans are so weirdly aligned... doesn't seem to make a nice circle or something.
Then I think my CPU Fan sucks. The heatsink is HELL of hot! Really.. the fan only rotates at 2400 RPM something.
What about water cooling? Expensive? An alternative at all? Seems like it's the only thing that really would help my system. Or a new heatsink/fan? But there's a lot of those and I'm not familiar w/ heatsinks at all. I have a P4 as mentioned..
No freaking idea about what cooler company is best in performance and reliability and stuff, never had to deal w/ this before.

PLEASE, help me. Or give me links to other forums where people could help me!

can post pics of anything you want.

BIOS config, current temps and voltage settings, the case and how it looks from the inside (have a digital camera, no prob) and basically everything. Let me know if you need a pic of something in order to help me more efficiently!

You try using a better thermal compound? Arctic Silver III should shave off a few degrees. If you have an OEM P4, then the best heatsinks are Alpha for socket 478, AX7 for socket 478, and some SwiftTech ones. If you have a retail, make sure you peel off that layer of black condunctive stuff in the bottom of your heatsink before you apply your thermal compound.

Also try to get ventilation in your system (which is common sense), and make sure you dont have anything that cancels each other out, like a fan exhaust next to a fan that intakes.

Better compound?
I'm using Arctic Silver III of which I think should be good enough, isn't that so? Thanks for the other tips, they are great. People recommended getting a Volcano 7+, what do you think? How does it compare to the coolers you suggested?
And now, a general question: What is the normal temperature for a P4 2.8Ghz? I mean.. is it 50 or above? Because.. if it is, there's nothing wrong. I just can't imagine it's so high.. the heatsink is hot as hell.

alpha is the most bang for the buck... and u dont need air going in circles in ur case. u just need it to come in from the front and out of the back. keep the air moving.....not, in circles.... maybe get round cables? they are always nicer looking than those flat wires....and it also helps airflow. i dunno what Case u have but i got a antec 1040 and i like it. room for 4 fans, good mid sized case, and lots of room. a better case would help ur situation as well. but if u dont have the money then get a alpha pal 8942 HSF with a 32CFM fan, that should be sufficient enough or u can go higher but the noise level will increse.

Hey!

Thanks for the helpful replies. I am uinsg an Antec SX835 and I already have round cables. Thanks for the airflow info.
