P4 2.8 or mobile 2.8? or 3.0ht

Just wanted to get some feedback form anyone on this.

Im going to buy a laptop and honestly for what Im going to be doing the regular 2.8 P4 should be fine. But below I could have these options for a tiny amount more.

Now I I know the 3.0 with hyper threading would be great for performance but how much more heat would that put oout compared to a normal 2.8 P4. Also Im guessing the Mobile P4 is just a lower voltage slower, cooler, and slightly slower?

Im kinda a AMD fan myself so I dont read up much on Intel. But when it comes to laptopns no one seems to have the right options that I want for the price so I decided to go the Intel route.

Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 2.80 GHz
HP recommends
+$25.00

Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3.06 GHz w/HT
High performance upgrade
+$50.0

indeed, intel seems to have the majority of mobile market share. your assumptions of the P4 M are correct, but they tend to be ALOT slower. if possible, try and get a proc with a 800Mhz FSB. if not, its only $25 so go for the 3.06. are you sure that 2.8 isn't Hyperthreaded also? what are all the higher end Proc choices?

Yeah its off Hp/compaqs site. Basically it doesnt say that the 2.8 was HT but I thought that the HT procs started at 2.8 so it could just be HPs marketing trying to get people to spend more cash. I will prolly just go up to the 3ghz one its only 50$ more. Im just concerned about the heat. I know the P4s run really hot.

Oh just looked on newegg... 2.8b procs are non HT and 2.8e are HT enabled. So its prolly right.
