I am completely new to this. I used to have an Athlon 1800 which overclocked real easy. With this, do I have to change ratios and voltage and stuff. Also, why do the Dell's come with pc3200 and a 533 bus. Shouldn't it only need pc2100. BTW, the memory says pc3200 333 which doesn't make sense to me.

Your lucky to get pc3200. It will permit better overclocking and upgradability. Unfortunately, your dell has virtually no overclocking options in the bios. So forget about overclocking until your next system. I like dell systems, and worked on their line for 6 months, but I've been building my own for 11 years, and will never buy a pre-built system again.

No, I am the vp of a telecommunications business and we ordered 15 Dimension 3000's for a job. The job required them to be Dell's, P4 2.0 or better, 512 ram, and 17 inch monitor. We got a great deal on the Dimension's so we ordered them even though they were above the minimum requirements. They came with 2.8's, a 17in flat panel, and 512 pc3200 for $400. I have a 2.0 so I swapped it with the 2.8 and I have 512 pc2100 so I swapped it for the 512 pc3200 and I also have a 17" CRT so I swapped it for the lcd. I had to buy the motherboard shown above though, since my old one only supported 400 bus. It was a pretty nice upgrade for $30. Anyway, since it is not a Dell motherboard, I can overclock right. I shoulld also mention that I have a 400 watt Antec power supply. Also, what kind of performance can I suspect from this setup. Will it still bottleneck my 9800 pro or will it be matched pretty evenly.
