P4 2.6C - Go 1:1 w/512M or 5:4 w/1G?

I'm planing to order a P4 2.6C and hope to OC it to 3.2+.

I can go 1:1 with PC4000 memory (Corsair or OCZ). If I go this route I'll stop at 512M due to memory cost. (about $190-210).

If however I go 5:4 I'll likely go Corsair PC3200LL C2. Since cost is lower, I might try and go 1G at a memory cost of $250 -$260.

For all around use, what would result in the faster system in your opinion? Running sync at 1:1 at 512M or going asyn and running 1G?

(plan to use Asus P4C800E)

Definitely 1 Gig. 1:1 is is WAY overrated anyway. You would have to run slow timings @ 1:1 which is no faster than 5:4 with tighter timings.
