If you want to overclock a 2.53, you picked the wrong RAM. You'll have to overclock that PC800 to PC1066 just to get the chip to run at 133FSB (the 2.53 runs on a 133MHz (533) FSB).

No...I believe you can run the memory at a 3x multiplier (if mobo has memory controls) which would be 133x3=400 or pc800....Should be able to even oc from there and maybe get a pit more out of it...The pc800 may not be able to clock to pc1066 levels but may be able to get pc900 and above....ie 3x150fsb for 450 or pc900....

It is not as bleak as it sounded...

To make a long story short, I purchased 1066 ram for my 2.53 and I cant even get it to x4 133. I called the company that sold me the Ram and after a lot of B!t@hing, they are sending me the correct Ram. Come to find out, they sent me cheap pc800. So, I took the Good pc800 out of my 2.2 and put it to a test. I got that up to x4 144 fsb! Now aint that the sh!ts, my Lil ol pc 800 out doing the monster 1066! That was it, I called them up and REALLY b!t@hed! So, they are sending 4 sticks that they will test and when it gets here, I will gladly send them their single sided pc800 that they were trying to sell as pc1066!
