P4 2.4c oc to 3.0 What temp to expect?

Hi

I'm running a P4 2.4c, overclocked to 3.0. HSF is the stock Intel unit that came with the CPU. MB is a MSI NEO-FIS2R 875p.

It's living in an Antec P160 case, with the stock exhaust fan, and an additional fan on the front air intake. Cabling is fairly clean and not impeding the airflow.

Motherboard Monitor 5 reports the CPU temp as 53c at idle, and 55c at full load (2 sessions of SETI@Home).
If I drop the speed down to stock 2.4, temps don't really change (52c/55c). Case temp is reported as 32c.

I'm wondering what recommendations you'd have for a good, quiet CPU HSF. The idle temp seems too high, even when it's not oc'd, so I'd like to bring it down some. I'm sure there are very effective, yet fairly quiet, HSF available, I just don't know which ones to look at.

Thanks!

Well I have the 2.8E running @ 3.5 (prescott) w/the sp94 +5000rpm fan. @ full load this only hits 56C w/a .065 voltage increase (if its actually doing it).

For just a Northwood you are too high IMO. Consider better cooling or drop the voltage.

Thanks for the advice. After looking around at options, I did decide on the Zalman CNPS 7000 cu. Just placed the order, should be here Tues or Weds, so I'm hoping it makes a difference in the cpu temp before the summer heat gets here.
