Which one should I get P4 2.4BGHz or Pentium 4 / 2.4GHz?

Whats the difference between the 2.4b vs 2.4?

Thanks all

The 2.4 or actaully 2.4a is the 400fsb model of the chip...It has a super high 24x multiplier and 100fsb chip....

The 2.4b is the 533fsb model of the chip with a more modest 18x multiplier and 133fsb.....

The advantages are...

The higher the fsb the better the performance...more bandwidth and you can clock the ram higher. Many INtel i845 chipsets at 133fsb will run at pc2700+ ddr whereas no intel chipset will run better the pc2100 at 100fsb...You will need an Sis 645 or via chipset for that.

If you oc the 2.4b and the 2.4a will likely top out at the same speed...being mostly b0 stepping chips present in the marketplace 2.8ghz is likely the tops with a safe vcore...With the 2.4b chip that means 156fsb for 624mhz total fsb and on most all newer i845d and up chipsets means you can run pc3200 (400mhz ddr). With the 2.4a you would only get tp 117fsb or 468mhz total fsb and likely only do near pc3200 ddr with a sis or via chipset. The higher the fsb the better the performance...
