P4 2.4a on an Asus P4B266 - advice please?

I have the Asus PFB266 mobo, with a P4 1.6 lightly OC'd to 2.1 using the 'Auto' settings (133 FSB).

I'm thinking of grabbing a P4 2.4a and seeing what it does on the mobo. Can anyone give a noob any OC'ing advice or pass on any experience with the same board/processor?

For all I know, I'm completely off track here, but I'm trying to learn.

dump the board.
get a good dualchannel ddr board and reuse your 1.6a @ 2.1ghz til you can replace it later.

id suggest an Abit IC7 or IS7.

That would still accomplish my "gradual upgrade" needs.
