My chip does 2.4ghz at 1.625v in bios but hardware and other progs all agree it is actually only running 1.57v...even at default 1.5v it showed 1.44v...all rails seem fine and do not fluctuate....

I am using retail hsf with thermal pad....my temps are around 48c for 2.4ghz.....I think I am going to use some As3 and get the avc sunflower and see if I can get those temps down to low 40's.

If so I think I may have some room left to boost it up to 140 plus...It will do it now I am sure but I don't like temps being reported in the bios....

im running 32C at idle - thermaltake P4V and arctic silver.

time for some serious case mods there Duvie ;)

(negative pressure exaust systems rock!)

Case temps are fine 26c and about same as my tbird 1.4@1.5 got....

I am going to order avc sunflower and AS3 so that should help....

However the MSI board IMO does not support the northwood very well...software bundled doesn't work with...5 progs give different readings...hardware monitor voltages way off and now fluctuate, but ps works perfect on athlon system with higher power needs...

I may get the asus and sove the reboot issues....

I am not really into achieving much morte then I already have, that is why the avc sunflower at pc power & cooling for 19.00 is about right...retail hsf is doing well now and the sunflower at 2300rpm more and about 25 percent more cfm will be an improvement...I already have the AS now so that should help. I am going to slap some on the chipset hsf as well....

I just installed the 19$ sunflower with some AS2 on my system to replace the Intel stock. Currently I have the bios set to 1.65v but MBM shows its actually only getting 1.55v. No big deal though, kicking 2.4 easy.

I am having some blue screen issues with things like Nero, but I think that is a goofed ASPI layer that is killing me. The blue screens started after I installed Roxio Video Editing software which installed its own SCSI emulation and bobo'ed my machine a little. Since then there has been some issues, I think it conflicted with my Promise ATA66 controller that all my cd drives are on. Does anyone have a suggestion for APSI layers in WinXP?

Prime95 torture with the Intel stock cooling ran at around 50deg C after 12 hours, the sunflower is only getting up to 42deg C. Idle is 32deg and case temp is 25deg, so under full load I am seeing an 8 degree improvement with the AVC.

The AVC fan runs at a bout 5300 rpm where as the Intel ran at about 2600 rpm. The AVC is louder, but not to the point of something like a Delta, it is definately tolerable. Some people seem to thing the pc power and cooling sunflower isn't a true AVC sunflower, but the fan says AVC, the specs are the same, and a side by side comparision showed no differences. It even includes the same AVC instrustion booklet.

Got 1.6A running at 2.4GHz on MSI-Ultra-ARU with RAID off (Vcore 1.550V)
No reboot problems. Voltage readings at the board 1.472V probably be incorrect.
Temperature: external digital probe at HSF - 28C stable.
Ran for 30 minutes with open case and low CPU usage.

Got CPU from newegg: ordered Sunday 2/10, shipped 2/11
Odd batch L150A422, pack date 1/11/02
Malay on the chip, no country on the box.

Strange thing: ordered MB+CPU one one order, both shipped same day, but from 2 different places in CA in 2 separate boxes.

BTW: I am using crucial DDR PC2100 256 MB.
