My brand new (pack date 5/02) 1.6a just arrived. I haven't opened it yet and I don't plan to until my GB mb arrives. There's alotta numbers and bar codes on the box. What should I be looking for?

Thanks in advance. 🙂

Ok...., having recently been seduced by the darkside 🙂 is this stepping a good or a bad thing?

Thanks, Thugsrook

You should be able to fire that 1.6a up @2400MHz at 1.65v or less.

Good Luck 🙂

Your packing date is the same month as both mine and thugs 1.6a and they both did 2.66ghz plus...Mine does 2.53ghz at default vcore....not bad when you figure that is like getting a retail 2.53ghz chip for half price and then figure that is with a 632mhz fsb....basic conclusion better then stock p4 2.53ghz!!!

Good luck!!!

Ok i've got a brand new 1.6A Batch#:3209A648 with a pack date of 08/28/02 I'm going to overeclock.Duvie and Thugsrook make your guesses on how high it will go with no more than 1.6v.

My system is:

P4B266
512meg Crucial PC2100
Radeon 8500......

...about 160fsb

That's a pretty decent o/c.

I'm dyin' to try mine out. It's just a waste of time tho for me to pull this 2.53 out of this Gigabyte 8SG667 and install my 1.6a and see what it'll do since this SIS648 chipset maxes out at 152mhz. fsb or so..

I'm having to wait on a GB board 🙁 .
