P4 1.6a, P4B266C harddrive scores

I recently built the above system and have been upping the FSB gradually to see what I can get out of it. I have been using PC Mark 2002 after each increase just to see whats going on. I know I can take these tests with a grain of salt but every time I increase the FSB my hardrive score goes down. The CPU and memory go up though.

Anybody know what whats going on? I havent touched anything but the FSB in the bios. Right now the FSB is at 145 and the CPU is at 2320 mhz and its running stable but just cant understand the low hardrive score. In comparison, the same model hardrive on my AMD XP 1700+ system gets a score thats more than double this system.

Please help.

what are you hd scores?
I haven't look at my numbers...I might be able to check them out tonight when i get home...
More info about your hd? Speed? Size? Raid???

Yeh itll probably help by me saying what hd I have. Its a 40 gb Maxtor 7200 rpm drive no raid. On the P4 system I get 362 on Pcmark2002 on the 1700+ system I get over 800.

Thanks

Ive seen the same thing on my system using the msi 845 ultra.
Heres some benchies ive done.

BENCHMARKS

Im not sure if its the fact the pci is overclocked to much or if the memory timings on mine is screwing it up. Notice the difference between 140fsb and 141 fsb on mine. The only difference other than the obvious fsb up 1 is the memory timings go back to 2.5-3-3-7. I have no answer for this except to stop checking the benchmarks!! 😉

Yeh UDMA is installed and enabled. I'm usually not a benchmark junkie but after getting this setup, who wouldnt be. Maybe I'll just let it go because it doesnt seem to be actually running slow just bad benchmark scores.

Thanks for everyones help.
