p4 1.6a oc query

hi guys!

lots of u guys oc'd 1.6a to 2.4 and more on retail heat sink.

was tweaking with voltages and other values within the bios were enough or did it require some cpu handling like using thermal paste and so on....

I also have a question, just recieved my p4 1.6a. I should remove the thermal pad & apply artic silver? what the best way to remove thermal pad?

i applied i real thin coat of artic silver, temp is 42c 2303.64mhz 16x143,98 runin prime self test. 1:1 ratio all volts defaults , 2x256 cruical ddr, Asus p4s33..

whats the safest high temp?
