P4 1.6a 533FSB w/ RAMBUS possible?

I haven't been following the P4 1.6a as closely as I should but it looks like nearly everyone can hit 133FSB (533 quad-pumped). That's almost a 1Ghz O/C! It seems like EVERONE is using DDR boards for the FSB jump, so I'm just wondering: How feasible is it to O/C PC800 RDRAM? Is it possible to go ahead and buy some rated for the faster speed (I haven't seen any)? Thnx!

Yes it's possible and I'm doing it on a Asus P4T-E with a 1.6A running at 2.13 gig, rambus at PC1066. Finding overclockable rambus isn't necessarily easy though. There are a wealth of threads on this in cpu's and overclocking and motherboard sections. Take a look around, there's plenty of info here.

Very possible! I have a 1.6 running at 2.4 on a TH7II-RAID board. Just ran Prime 95 overnight to assure it's stability and came off it with no problems! It's totally stable in XP Pro. As for which to buy.........I buy Samsung.........tried a few others but did not have as good O/C'ing with them except Corsair which also uses Samsung chips...........🙂
