alright, maybe i'm kinda late in finding out about this tweak, but i've just discovered this nifty tweak software called H-Oda's WPCredit which allows p3v4x users to set 4 way interleaving for the ram which is not available in the bios...

just benchmarked using SiSoft Sandra, and my P3-700e@980 (140fsb) shows a memory bandwidth of 475mb/sec... perhaps even higher than BX chipset mobos... i'm using 256mb infineon PC133@140 CAS2

Click here for a walkthru on how to use the tweak on your mobo now... works for via chipset mobos, including KX/KT chipsets as well...

Enjoy!! 😀

I have heard WPCredit sometimes causes system instability. A better alternative is a small program called Beta4W created by a guy called "Slop". Trust me, weird name, GREAT program, does the same thing as WPCredit and easier too. Australian Overclockers Go to the P3V4X forum. C Ya

nice nice... i just tried it... same performance boost as WPCredit... maybe i'll stick with Beta4w then 😀

4 way memory interleaving is enable in bios when SPMD is selected for the memory timings. If you select your memory timings (via User Select I believe) then 4 way memory interleaving is not enabled.

i think the bad thing about using SPMD is that it doesn't give u the fastest ram settings ie. 2-2-2-5
is that right?
