P3V4X temp question

bios says 56c just after booting up after booting into windows asus proe shows 40c what can i believe??

How long does it take to go from BIOS to Windows? It is possible that the CPU heats up during the boot, and cools off by the time Asus Probe starts up in Windows. Also note, that Asus Probe can cool down the CPU just like Waterfall/Rain/etc. That does not happen during the boot process, thus there are higher temperatures then.

The P3V4X temperature readings had bug in it with the first few BOIS revisions. my old P3V4X claimed my PIII was peaking 70+ degrees C. An upgrade to you BIOS should correct the readings. Try a search in older posts for more info.
