Been running this mobo w/P3 700Mhz w/pc100 sdram, win2000 etc for 5 months set to "JUMPERLESS"....now, what is the difference between running w/ jumpers "ON" and w/o jumpers (set to jumperless)? sorry if question is very confusing...thanks

Mike

I also have the same mobo, and from what I understand, when it's set up as Jumperless (like I have it), the FSB is selected in the Bios, but if you use the Jumpers, they will override whatever is in the bios. I'd keep it jumperless if I were you. Unless you are worried about someone messing with your cpu settings.

I also have the P3V4X. Jumperless allows you to adjust the FSB settings in the bios. With this board it is the "way to go". I've had the board for about 6 months and am still tweaking it (this is a good thing!). 🙂

If you want 100% control over your P3V4X mobo..then 'Jumper switch' is the way to go. Asus P3V4X's 'Jumperless' pretty much give you most control.

I recently bought this board but I am having a problem with it and was wondering if you all have had this problem. i bought a P3 600 with fsb100 and it will not play 3d games. It will run everything else correctly. I have a tnt 770 card and a sb live card with 128 100fsb Kingston mem. It will play unreal for about aminute then lock up and Ive tried other games and it does the same thing. Know heres the funny part if I drop it to a 400 p3 by changing trhe bus settings it will run the 3d games. All the drivers are up todate and the same 3d games will run on my previous 333 celery with out a hiccup. Any sugggestions?
thanks

In reading the manual, if you set the mobo to jumperless mode, you should set all the bank of dip switches to "off".

td: I'm not quite sure what's going on, but you might want to install Via's latest 4 in 1 drivers. That's probably not your problem though. Maybe you just got a bum cpu that runs too hot and can't quite handle it's rated speed.
