P3V4X best Slot 1 mobo for overclocking?

Allow me to explain my situation.

I have a P3 550E Slot 1 processor running on an Abit BH6 right now. The memory I have is rated 133 @ cas2. I have tried my processor on a friend's rig (P3V4X) with my RAM and achieved upwards of 800 at standard voltage. I think I want to go with this board, but if anyone can recommend a better one, I'd be open to suggestions. Thanks.

I've got one of this and if you spend the time to tweak it you'll get a very stable and fast
board....

Just remenber to get new bios, drivers and such for you system....

A word of advice, there are two distinct versions of the board.
The difference is the clock generator chip...one allows 32 fsb settings and the other 16...
the 16 one is supposed to be more stable than the 32 one ( didn't notice any problems with mine
- its the 32 fsb).

Check a few websites, and reviews to get the one that you want...

there may be a better slot 1 mobo, but not a better slot 1 via chipset mobo. the Abit BE6-2 is an outstanding overclock board if you don't use the Highpoint controller. The Asus P3bf is a great mobo, the MSI BXmaster is an excellent OCing mobo. but these BX chipset boards will have the AGP way out of spec @133mhz.
You will be hard pressed to find a better mobo than the P3V4X, if you intend to OC get the board with the ICS clock gen chip.
Just my opinion.

p3 650@949 146mhz fsb
Alpha PEP66
P3V4X
128 mb John's ram 2-2-2

Thanks guys. I'll probably pick up one of these. The problem I had with BX chipsets with the AGP being out of spec should be fine when I get the P3V4X.

Would it be worth it to spend $30 or so on an ATA100 controller to go with my new Maxtor 40gb 7200 ATA100 drive? I've heard that the performace gain isn't that great.

Compuwiz said it.... I Love my Soyo.. it smokes my P3B-F in overclocking... I've said it before a bunch of times in the forum. great solid board for overclocking...
was at a LAN party a while back and it ran Q3 for about 15 hours straight playing most of the time PIII 700@933 without one problem.. Good product!
