Hello,

I am able to O/C my P3/550E at 733 without any glitches in Windows, but some in games. When I was playing gamea, my computer rebooted without a warning, it happened twice when I was O/Ced and it never happened to me when I was at the normal speed. I run the CVolt at 1.7, since I have some stability problems in Windows at 1.65. But it's not my problem, I was wondering if it was possible to increase the stability in games? Like increasing the VIO, but it seems to be impossible on the P3V4X, someone have another idea?

Thank you
Bye

For help with the P3V4X check out the link below.

I hesitate to say too much about what your system problem is since I do not know that much about your system. Good luck.

Majesty, I have the P3V4X with a 550e also, however, mine is the slot 1 model. I have one of the older boards with the ICS generator chip and I am able to overclock it to 825mhz (1.7 V) and everything is extremely stable. The two things that I did to run at this speed was to put a small h/s on the ICS generator chip and mount a small 40mm fan close to it to cool it. The other thing that helped me to achieve this speed was upgrade my BIOS to 1006, (this is a beta BIOS). This bios enables 4-way interleaving and helps on memory benchmarks. I am now running at 150 FSB, before these improvements I could only run 133 FSB (733mhz). I don't know if either of these things will help you, but this is what I did.

You didnt say what type of memmory you are running, so another thing that could cause your problem is low quality memmory. I am running APACER and it will not let me do over 145 stable.

1.75 vcore isn't really risky. So if 1.75 does it, keep it.

Also, enable "L2 cache ECC check" under "Advanced" in the bios. This will give a good boost in stability, without a measurealbe performace decrease. This is disabled by default.

I just tried that yesterday and it works wonders for stability. I get the same Q3 fps with and without it enabled. So try it!
