Hello folks,

trying to find out, wether i should go for a p35 or nforce680i mainboard.

first of all:
im not planing to OC
i wont use sli
ddr2 is the choice right now

gonna run a q6600 on the system, 4gb machine, mainly work, little gaming, performance needed for virtualization.

i need at least 8x sata (8x internal or 6xinternal & 2x external)..that narrows the options down A LOT. actually im stuck with gigabyte mainboards: the p35 performance seems to be nice on these boards and they usually offer quite a lot of sata connectors.

what im looking at:
GA-P35-DS4 or GA-P35T-DS4 (main difference seems to be the DDR3 support?)

alternativly:
GA-N680SLI-DQ6.

i guess i favour the p35, but i didn't here/read a lot about the performance difference betweens the two chipsets (non-overclocking and single graphic on ddr2).

any ideas/suggestions?

If you're not going to use SLI there is absolutely no reason to buy a 680i.

P35 any day of the week for you needs.

P35 is a much better choice by far. The only nVIDIA board I have ever owned (A8N32-SLI) is the buggiest pile of crap I have ever owned.
