P35 or X38?

I'm gearing up to do a new system build to replace my aging P4 system.

I've pretty well decided on a P5K3 Deluxe, but is there any compelling reason to wait for the X38 chipsets to appear? Its it *really* supposed to be that big of a deal?

 
PCIE 2.0 true dual 16x PCIE and possible SLI support. I have the P5k, but I will probally sell it when the x38 finally is released.
