P35 or X38 which is better for me?

Guys i am really make sense to buy a X38 based motherboard in my case?

1. i am not planning for crossfire
2. i will not use Raid

but

3. i will use Ati 4870
4. i will use Q6600
5. i will use 8 gigs of DDR2 memory

The P35 which i plan to buy is Abit P35-E & the X38 which i have shortlisted is ABit IX38 QuadGt ( I haven't decided yet )

X38 if you will be going quad as they are probably more stable for overclocking a quad... but a nice P45 would do you good also for that quad

note also that Abit is leaving the mobo business (they claim they will support existing boards for 3 yrs, but how hard do you think they'll be trying?!).

I own the IP35-E board with a Q9300. OC'ing is not a problem. However, it doesn't feel like the most stable board. It has little quirks and stuff that make it annoying sometimes. If money is an issue, I would say go with it, as it is very cheap right now. If you could spring for a similar Asus or Gigabyte board, I would be much more happy with one of those.

Like I said though, the P35 does not have any problems with the Quad core and OC'ing. Just not a fan of the Abit. Also getting the drivers is a pain cause I think they moved their site to a crappy host, so it takes forever to load and sometimes is just wont.

As mentioned, go for the P45 board. I tried to run a high clock on the P35 with my quad and got next to nowhere, also had an X48 which is the same as an X38 but with a higher binned NB and that was just marginal.
