i was farting around with my OC'ing utility that came with my mobo last night and tried to use the automatic easy mode to see how it ran and i took it up to 15% and bam !! bsod.
i have a e6750 c2d and 2gigs crucial ddr2 tracer memory.
it rebooted and i gamed for 3 hours without a problem. never had that problem with my old p-4 2.4c HT cpu and an Asus p4p-800.

never got to see what my cpu speed was up to but i wont do that again lol.

no i didn't make any changes except via the gigabyte utility that came with the mobo. i was just seeing what was what. i have been gaming so much i really have not explored the goodies that came with the mobo.

just sharing a dumb move experience with the forum is all.

uninstall that utility and use the Bios to control ur OC options, its very easy...

read the sticky in the CPU forum come back when you're done with that =]

remember.. before u do anything, load your optimized defaults in your bios

uninstalling that utility will happen tonight. and its funny but i just got done reading over that c2d tutorial by graysky. not an indepth but a quick scan. i will print it at home then follow it.

i got this mobo because it had such good ratings everywhere i looked so now i might as well see about unlocking some secrets with it so to speak.

i am looking to get this cpu to 3ghz. now that is based on getting my old p4 to 3ghz. i don't know if that is a realistic number or not but i am off to do some more reading on it. thanks
