Am i reading this correct ?

I think that would be the ideal path to take... P35 + e4300 then later put a Penryn in there n we'r set for quite a while...
So is P35 launching on May 21st ? When can we expect motherboard availability....? That P35 DS3 from Gigabyte looks just what I always wanted... Heatpipe and great features.

Also does any1 know what the price range will be for these boards? Im sure not less than $150 is that right? :(

140-240 should be the price range.

May 21st is the NDA but others have said Intel pulled the NDA up to May 9th.

Retailers already have them in stock...

It looks promising but I wonder how problematic it'll be at first? In the past alot of the new mobos took a few BIOS tweaks to get them stable and the kinks worked out.

Agreed w/you AnotherGuy...and for me, this thread topic segues nicely from my earlier post and related questions about running the E4300 on the 1066 strap.

Just read the AT article and I'm definitely interested in that P5K Deluxe and how it compares with the DFI P965 Dark. Sounds like we're finally going to get an AT review of the DFI mobo too in this upcoming P35 comparo. Sadly, it looks like once again, Abit's P35 board may be a no-show in the first round :| . But I hope I am mistaken...

that wouldnt' be too bad an idea. the e4300 would probably be able to run at 1333bus too with 667 memory.

3.0 ghz. with an e4400 or e4500 (which is coming when they discontinue the e4300 in a quarter) you might have less luck trying to run 3.33 or 3.66 ghz at 1333 (3.66 just isnt gonna happen on the allendale core)

Is 965 not compatible with Penryn? I thought it would be. Oh well, guess I'll sell off this cpu/mobo/ram in a year or two whenever I need greater than Q6600 CPU power.

965 has different vcore regulation. You need 11.3 I believe to support penryn and 45nm.

P35 will be a heck of a chipset when it comes out. Everyone loves 65nm NB :).

agreed yoxxy.

p35 looks very nice. i can't wait to see the x38 though.

i wonder if the x38 will be as FSB limited as the 975x was. hopefully not.

x38 and p35 are the same chipset. Just with pci-e lanes fully unlocked. i.e. 650i, 680i :). So yeah it will be good.

What does fully unlocked pci-e lanes exactly mean?

number of lanes can be different depending on the board manufacturers?

Number of lanes can be different depending on the chipset. X38 will have two full pci-e 16x lanes. P35 Will not.

Support for PCI-E Revision 2, and 2x 32x lanes will come on X38 refresh.
