P35 and native eSATA

I'm thinking about getting the Asus P5K-Dlx, which supports eSATA. I was reading the early P35 review on Anantech and I think that it implied that the eSATA ports would be capable of port multiplying. I'm not sure if that is a standard feature of eSATA, but some boards have eSATA ports but don't actually have native eSATA support...

So, if I had an external RAID enclosure with port multiplying, thus connecting to the computer via one eSATA cable, would port multiplying work, or would I have to get an eSATA controller card?

If my question doesn't make sense, please let me know...
Thanks!

most boards have eSATA implemented via an addon controller.
the P5K Dl uses a JMicron JMB363 for this so I suggest that youcheck JMicron's site for it's capabilities.
