I have several P3 CPUs, I'm currently using 2x850E FCPGA and 1x700E @ 933Mhz..

Besides the 700E, which other cpu is a good overclocker ? Like to do from 100 to 133 like the 700E...

Any recommendation ? Like to replace the 850s with 700E or similar good overclocked CPU...

Thanks for suggestions..

My 600E is currently running at 990 w/165 FSB on an Abit BE6-2 rev. 2! :D (it will do 1002 @167 FSB, but if the ambient room temp goes over a certain amount, it's unstable)

I never in my wildest dreams expected it...although it hit 800 @default voltage right off and ran like that for 5 months... And considering the troubles I've had getting my Duron 700 past the mid-900s on the MSI K7T Pro2A... :( (but I won't complain! :))

ent all the xxxE good for overclocking?

Not necessarily. P3's really shine in high FSB situations, & a CPU with a multiplier of above 7.0 - 7.5 is unlikely to hit a 133 MHz FSB. True, you'd probably have a good shot at OCing an 800, but you probably won't get above 115 or 120 on the FSB. Get a lower multiplier chip, & use a higher FSB.

I think the 700E is the best chip for overclocking. Mine is at 966 with 138 fsb right now :) Trying to get higher, but old components ( I think) are holding me back. But this chip does 933 stock voltage easy.

Dang, thats really heavy overclocking... using cusl2 and crucial pc133 cas3 so it's good for mild but not 167Mhzs :) you must be having fun...

Does 750 or 800 overclock well ? I search the overclockers db, it looks like higher voltage at 750 and much higher at 800... is the 700e the sweet spot ? seems like it..

500E - 700E are the best overclockers... (any in between those 2 and those 2 as well)
as long as it's 100 bus and it's an E.

Even some 750's and 800's are pretty good... an 800 has a decent chance of hitting 133 FSB = 1066 MHz. I wouldn't go above 700 and expect very high overclocks but it COULD happen for sure. get a few more 700E's they'll most likely do 933+ esp. the cC0 steppers.

hmm, my 700e is a cB0 stepping and it won't even work at 133 fsb. I get reg errors, random reboots, etc. However it is really stable at 140fsb and 146fsb. Go figure. Won't even boot at 148 - 166 no matter what the voltage or components.

I have 3 550e slot1's and 1 700e slot1, and the 700 is the only one that will not even post at 133FSB. The others work great at 133FSB and even 140FSB, and that is using Crucial PC100 CAS2 memory. I have a huge Alpha on it, while the 550e at 140FSB has a cheap Coolermaster with one fan. I guess I got a bum 700e but it was free.
