My current system specs:
*P3 550 Katmai
*ASUS P3V4X
*128 generic pc-100
*Creative Annihilator 2
*SB Live Value
*Creative 6X dvd
*DXr3 Decoder card
*3 Com Network Card
*4X4X24 Iomega Zip CD
*100 MB Zip Drive.....

I plan on buying a P3 700e slot one in about a month or two along with some quality 133 ram......but heres my question:

If i just get pc-133 ram with my current setup....can i overclock my katmai by going to a 133 FSB?

one more question: How does teh overclocking work when you have a "100 mhz FSB" chip like my 550 or a 700e?......do you just manually set it all up in the bios?

I seriously doubt that, I have a Katmai 500, it'll only run 600 if I disable the level 2 cache.

What you can do with the PC133 mem, is to run your memory at FSB+PCI speed, and then clock your Katmai to whatever it will do.

It's pretty difficult to get a good overclock out of the older Katmai 550, since its speed is already pretty close to the physical maximum of the .25u process on which it is manufactured.

You should be able to get 5.5 x 112 (616) as a reasonable expectation, but don't be too disappointed if you can't get much better than that.
