Brand new to this overclocking stuff, read lots of post from here. Got Asus P2B-F with 450 in it, tried to overclock to 133 but could not get system up. Was able tp set jumpers 4.5 x 124/41.33 and all seems fairly stable. This puts it about 558, anything I could try to get it to take 133 without having to buy anything? Thanks

I doubt it with that chip. Plus, I'd be afraid of running at that 124 FSB. PCI is pretty high.

Actually that was a typo, the 450 is running at 558 with 124/31. If I wanted to upgrade, which chip would work well in this board or do I need to also switch boards? If its recommended I switch boards, which one from Asus should I get? (get better deals on Asus from supplier)

Thanks

With BIOS revision 1012 you sould be able to run Coppermine. You may have to set some non-standard voltage settings, but it does seem to work.

I would suggest:

1) Flash your BIOS to the latest version
2) Buy a Celerymine (533A or 566) or PIII Coppermine (700E cB0) depending on memory speed
3) Buy a Golden Orb
4) Buy a MSI MS-6905 Master slocket unless you already have one.

Should work great, with no requirement for a new mobo. It sounds like you're saying your memory is 133 MHz capable. If so, I'd definitely go PIII (assuming your video card can handle it - have you tested it?).

BIOS is on 1013 already, memory is 100mHz but its good stuff and from what I have read on here it should hang with 133, video is VooDoo5. Thanks for all your help
