Can't reinstall WinMX. I get error message ... " winmx353.exe is not a valid WIN32 application" Have I got some security setting that is blocking the install ??

Maybe the file got corrupted? Don't know where a good place to download it again would be though - winmx.com seems to have vanished. :( Download.com maybe?

I had saved the original download file in a "downloads" folder. When I did the Uninstall of WinMX early today, I went into the files with 'search' and cleaned out the left-overs. I don't know if I screwed a registry entry; or there is a security setting that needs to be lowered, ignored. I sometimes get the warning about a "invalid signature", but after I hit the run, I get the error message.
If anyone still has WinMX and still wants to use it... there are 2 work-arounds, that will let you reconnect.

That's why I'm trying to reinstall it.

Is there any reason to install it now? The WinMX network and sites are gone due to tha RIAA victory.

Not dead at all ... resurrected. Look at the 2 links I put in my earlier post on this thread. They are work arounds. Also the Open Naps are still alive.
I still can't get the .exe file to install. I'm using emule, but it's slower than the second coming.

The central tracking system is shut down. I knew the program still worked. To me if the central tracking system is down thats as good as dead.
