I'm a big downloader of indie mp3s and used soulseek on my old pc to get my fix (I download RIAA free / copyright free mp3s and check out new artists) - any good mac equivalent?

Soulseek -X seems broken, but any other popular networks out there? Good clients?

For bittorrent I use Transmission

Same as Secretanchitman here, Frostwire, Transmission, and Cyberduck.

Filezilla for ftp, Azureus for BT, and dont really mess with p2p.

UGh and Ugh...

Filezilla not so much ugh, but there are other, better FTP clients out there for OS X. Repeat after me, This is not Windows.

And Azureus? Really? Oh man, how cna you stand it?

The only reason i use Frostwire is because the only native p2p that I can think of is Acquisition, which is a for-pay client. I will not spend money on a p2p client, it just strikes me as backwards. However, I rarely open frostwire for the exact same reason that I do not use azureus, java. You don't really notice it on Windows for any number of reasons, but you get it onto OS X and all kinds of things are noticeable.

Oh well, to each their own, hurray capitalism and all that. As that one TED talk said, there is no perfect pepsi, there are only perfect pepsis.

Trasmission is a dream for BT! It will automanage all of your torrents. You specify a directory and how long you want to seed, and as soon as you download a torrent into that directory it starts d/l'ing and it will stop it after you've seeded that specific amount. I no longer have to monitor Azureus, or any of the other BT clients that I used to use.
