Does Mirc have mp3s, videos, and the like? I am on a university connection and I get terrible download speeds on P2P networks like 2.00 kb/s. Mirc is a $20 fee and I want to know if I will be able to download at good speeds before paying the money.

IRC is a pain in the rear. Way too many people that think they are god's gift to the internet. If you got newsgroups, I'd suggest checking those out first. Or buy a newsgroup subscription somewhere. A few places will give you a free 3 day trial of their servers if you want to check them out.

I don't know anyone who pays for mIRC as the software never formally expires. You get a pop-up screen once in a blue moon with the author's information but that's about it.

Newsgroup is the way to go.
