Hello,

I was looking into my cousin's HP Pavillion 8360 and saw that his motherboard was marked as a

P2L98-X

It looks a lot like an Asus board since they list a lot of "P2L" models, but I cannot find any info anywhere on this particular model. It has a 66 MHz bus, supports up to a Pentium II 333, has two dimms, onboard sound and video, an AGP expansion slot, 2 PCI, 2 ISA.

Any help is much appreciated.

It looks like an ASUS LX board designation.....but the -X on the end kind of throws it out....ASUS hasn't put an -X on the end of a name since the SP98 and KN97 to denote that they are ATX instead of AT where all the boards in the family are AT.

The 2 PCI slots indicates that it would be a Micro ATX board....in which case the letter at the end would be a -M rather than a -X.

Possible.....

But ASUS normally releases all the boards that it makes for retail purchase as well, which the P2L98-X is not.

That's very odd.....an ATi graphics chip AND an AGP port...

It certainly looks like an ASUS board....the P2L97-A is similar with the onboard video, but does not have the AGP Port.

And it looks like there is a version with an extra PCI slot since there is an outline for one below the AGP slot.
