p2b 1.02 with celeronII: is this possible?

a friend ask me if he could upgrade with a celermine.
fcpga slocket (w/ vcore adj) and latest bios is what I need?

Asus recommends board version 1.12 or later but they all seem to work as long as you upgrade the BIOS with version 1012. Check here for more details... http://www.ctechnet.com/hardware/asus_2.htm#41200

There are a few P2B's (rev 1.02) running Celeron II 566 at 850Mhz.

You may have to run it at 1.8 V however, depending on the voltage regulator on your mobo. Make sure you flash the BIOS first

Get him:

Celeron 533A or 566 OEM FC-PGA chip (but NOT plain 533)
MSI MS-6905 Master FC-PGA --> Slot 1 converter card
Golden Orb or Alpha cooler (FC-PGA version)
Good thermal paste

dont do that i put a celeren II 566 in my p2b using the asus converter (which allows voltage selection), and it fryed the chip cos of the voltage!
