p2 -> p3 on a abit bh6

i have a abit bh6 with a p2-350 on it ....
inherited a p3-500 .....
hmmm might work .. mabey
removed p2 installed p3
a "buddy" said it might reconfigure itself and go ...
might not too
went into bios and set it for 100x5
fires up and reports a p2 - 500
went online to brag and another guy said to update
the motherboard to make things "more better"
so we did that too ......
hmmm 2 for too

still says i got a p2 - 500 at startup ......

any comments or sugestions?

Perhaps you didn't flash to the LATEST bios. Check which bios revision you are running, and make sure it is the very latest. Also remember to reset the defaults AFTER flashing, and then reset the settings to where they should be. A BH6 SHOULD properly recognize a PIII 500 as a PIII 500. I have a PIII 700 in mine that was recognized as such. Switched the FSB to 133, and now it recognizes it as a PIII 933. :)
