I have an old P2 266. I need a new heatsink/fan combo. I leave my computer on a lot, so I need a good cooler, but I don't want to spend too much. I don't need excessive perfomance, just good quality. Cheap fans have only been lasting me 6 months on average? I am fed up with them and want a quaity one this time. Who makes good ones? Does anyone know one that will work with this old processor?

Not sure that you need a heatsink, maybe just a new fan, depends. If the fan you currently use is screw mounted, you can easily replace it. Measure it, and order a new one from

I have a cheap heatsink too. I want to replace that also. Can anyone recommend one. Thanks. I just don't know what to look for. What is the difference between SECC and SECC2 on the P2s? Which one is right for me?

Yours is older generation PII so you will need a SECC HSF. Why don't you just go down to your local computer store and get one?
